Hidden Catalog

In design — the behavior is being specified. (priority P2)

The catalog goes dark

Today, every item in the realm is listed in one big public catalog — which means no discovery ever really surprises anyone. This feature turns the lights off: the full catalog becomes a DM-and-admin workshop, and your campaign's Armory becomes the only window into the item world. You'll learn an item exists the way an adventurer should — when your DM reveals it on the shelf, or when it lands in your pack.

Selling, your inventory, and everything you already own stay exactly as they are. What changes is mystery: reveals mean something again, and the shopkeeper knows things you don't.

What the DM gets

The DM's view of the same Armory page becomes a full-catalog lens: it opens on the shop's current shelf, and one tap expands to everything the campaign could stock — unstocked items shown muted but fully readable, one action away from the shelf. Stocking, unstocking, staging an item hidden, and forging new homebrew all happen right on the page, no AI conversation required.

And a rule the whole platform now follows: what a DM forges belongs to the campaign, not the person — so if a table ever changes DMs, its shop, pool, and forged items travel with it.

Changes

  • 2026-08-15 Item Editing, a quick sibling feature, slots ahead in the queue — its campaign-local shop versions are designed to compose with the Armory lens planned here.
  • 2026-07-24 Spec completed after full review: campaign owns forged homebrew, every data path closes with the pages, and the DM lens lands shelf-first.
